(Dear Reader, do I really need to tell you to go and look at the new stuff from J. Crew?) Gorgeous shots, as always. This time they’re in Prague…. God. If only we had the budgets they do for shoots. I read somewhere recently that J. Crew puts out around 13 catalogs a year. Granted, many use pick-up shots from other catalogs but imagine being on the art direction team and shooting in Prague, Morocco and Ireland as they have in the past year. Sigh.

Anna was kind enough to email me and tell me about her sweet ring pillows. I really loved the delicate textural effect of these pillows. Anna also mentioned that she can custom make pillows to match your color scheme. Order them on her web site here.
Also check out her range of full-sized super colorful pillows in the most beautiful colors of brights and metallics.

Natasha Law’s book came into the office and I totally loved looking through pages and pages of her fab line drawings. See more of her work at her rep, Breed London. (Breed also reps another of my favorite illustrators, Si Scott.

I went through AIGA’s Year in Design for 2007 yesterday… my favorite category by far was the Book Design category. Over a hundred books are shown here, among them the above two covers.
I absolutely loved the cover for Dead Man’s Float. The book description is as follows: “The main character has suffered a stroke and is relegated to a hospital bed where he floats in a pool of his tragic memories.”
See all the entries in the AIGA Design Archive.
Two books included in the selection.
Sorry for the lack of updates lately, guys. Summertime at work is always heavy. Can you believe we’ve just started Christmas advertising?!
Clicking through Apartment Therapy today, I saw that my fave Eva Zeisel (Who celebrated her 100th birthday last November!) has just designed a coffee table for DWR. Classic Eva Zeisel… Love those flourished forms. I wish I had an extra $1,500 around since it’d complement my Zeisel/KleinReid print beautifully.
