Canvas Storage @ West Elm

Love the new canvas storage at West Elm. Looks like they’re taking up the lost business now-defunct Hold Everything used to secure. These storage boxes look a lot like the book board collection HE used to carry and it’s a good thing… those were fabulous. Great colors and crisp shiny hardware plus I’m loving the new Kenya print.

Magazine Butler, $19 each.

Wall Art Goodness

Everyone’s favorite Target has lots of great new stuff for home décor including the above stretched canvasses. I feel like these could be carried by Urban Outfitters for at least double the price. I do like the new styles Target is carrying currently, especially the Penthouse Collection which also works for guys. Could be really chic but not bachelor pad-y if used in conjunction with muted colors like dove gray and dusty blues and furniture with great silhouettes. I’m SO popping over there this weekend for Paul & Joe. Who else is going?

Pink Wall Art, $24.99. Chocolate Wall Art, $24.99.

OrangeBeautiful

Beautiful typography and design at OrangeBeautiful. Also offered is custom bookbinding, examples of which are shown in the portfolio… lots of gorgeous custom books that appear to be scrapbooks and photo albums. Love the monogram above as well as the line of greeting cards that debuted at this year’s Stationery Show.

SES Design Jewelry

Susan of SES Design Jewelry dropped me a sweet note today and introduced her jewelry to me. Love these necklaces, all based on circular forms. Also available are rings made from uncut stones and wire and bangles in interesting shapes. Quite beautiful work, indeed.

Little Miss Sunshine

Saw Little Miss Sunshine last week and keep thinking about it. It was most definitely the funniest movie I’ve seen this year. Steve Carrell is absolutely brilliant and little Abigail Breslin was absolutely adorable. Crazy week this week but thought I’d post this for now. Go see it!

Nirali Magazine—The Relaunch

I run an online magazine with some friends called Nirali… We launched our first issue in September 2004 with a feature on the charming Kal Penn and since have covered the likes of desi newsmakers M.I.A., Shaheen Sheik, Tina Sugandh, Navi Rawat and Noureen DeWulf. We’ve been on hiatus for over a year now and are relaunching again on September 1st with a brand-new site and great content. If you’d like to introduce yourself to us, add us as a friend on MySpace!

Kal Penn from our first issue of Nirali Magazine... he talked about the movie business, starting out and Harold & Kumar Goes To White Castle.

Priya is twenty-nine. She lives in New York City. She art directs advertising for a luxury jewelry brand. She loves fizzy lemonade, Ladurée macarons, Jean Schlumberger jewels, vintage fashion advertising, Audrey Hepburn movies and letterpressed paper. She also loves her work.
