Yamauchi Kazuaki

The work of Yamauchi Kazuaki is so beautiful. Love the transparent quality of the inks and all the playful animals and people. Look for the less playful but still beautiful illustrations at the bottom of the list of work in the portfolio. The children’s fish illustrations and the literal illustrations of fish are both beautiful in their own right and shows the flexibility in style of work. Kazuaki mostly illustrates childrens’ books in Japan and oh, how I wish I could get some translated into English.

So fresh, so clean!

Steven Harrington

Steven Harrington‘s work has blown me away. The colors! The typography! The textures! The retro feel! I love it all. A really great portfolio.

One, Two, Three.

Arkitip

Haven’t been to the design resource, Arkitip in awhile and was pleasantly surprised that they are carrying silkscreened limited-edition prints. Some gorgeous work on here, particularly the work from Evan Hecox.

Hermès Twilly

Hermès has some of the best design in the business, especially with textiles. Love the patterns on these new Twilly skinny scarves, which are a great modern update on the classic Hermès scarf. Also, check out the playful patterns on the gorgeous enamel bangles.

Cavallini Papers & Co.

You’ve probably seen the stuff from Cavallini Papers before if you’ve even just stepped inside of a Kate’s Paperie. The official website for the stationer shows the full range of products and it’s nice to see all the offerings aside from the few things that show up at Kate’s. I especially love the Moleskine-esque notesbooks with elastic closures and the above correspondance cards with the vintage graphics and worn feel.

Correspondance cards, set of 8.
