Vintage Beer Cans

There is a great set of vintage beer cans up on Flickr by Lance Wilson. Lance told the blog TheDieline that the cans are a “… portion of an extensive beer can collection (2000+ cans) containing cans from the past 70 years …”

Amazing how far the packaging and typography has come. Loving the tag lines too: “The beer with the million dollar flavor.”

Studio on Fire

I’ve been loving the Studio on Fire blog, Beast Pieces for the past few weeks as they’ve been updating more frequently with current projects. Their advice for preparing files and choosing inks and papers for letterpress and other printing is proving quite invaluable… definitely bookmark this as a great resource.

The work shown above completely blew me away. (Of course, most of their work does but this… wow.) They were commissioned to design an engagement book consisting of a collection of emails between a couple that were eventually letterpress printed and bound. I especially love that blind impression on the french folds. Gorgeous work.

Crispin & Basilio

Dug out the first piece I bought from Crispin & Basilio and remembered to recheck for Spring 2009. Loved nearly everything.

Vintage Epherma

Flickr user Daily Poetics has a fantastic set of photographs of vintage epherma. Old school typography makes me happy. (via Twig & Thistle)

Louise Fili

The insanely talented Louise Fili has just launched her new website and has updated her portfolio to include lots of her newer work. Needless to say, it’s totally gorgeous. I especially loved the identity she designed for the restaurant Bedford Post. (pictured above) The typography alone is gorgeous and the postage stamp illustration is so beautiful.

Also launched is a blog which is sure to be a new daily read for me! (via Jessica Hische)

Identity for Bedford Post is based on an illustration of the owner's grandfather.

Johnny Miller Part Two

More Johnny Miller… this time you’ll recognize his work for Martha Stewart. I love how the work looks so different but you can still tell it’s him.
